GOOOH | Get Out of Our House: A non-partisan political party!

I do not often blog about politics, one because I am not a very political person, and two, because politicians as a general rule just make me sick to my stomach.

On my way this work this morning I was listening to the Walton and Johnson show, as I do every day as I am a loyal 10%'er.  On this morning's show they had a Mr. Tim Cox on that just released a new book, REVOLUTION: Get Out Of Our House.  The premise being getting the politicians who are paid by big business and special interest groups out of Congress and putting in the people our government is supposed to be representing, the working class folks.

Shane Zehnder's Gravatar Well, to be honest I do not know how well it would work. Reading from the website, if you want to be involved in the processes all you have to do is fill out a questionnaire about how you would vote on important issues of the day and make a $100 donation. All the applicants will be grouped in tens. They will take the top two out of every group of ten and then those will go into groups of tens, and so on and so forth until the top candidates for all 50 states are figured out. Then, the GOOOH will fund the candidates campaign since the average Joe could never afford the campaign costs.

Will it actually work? I do not know. Would I vote for a GOOOH candidate over a candidate bought and paid for by special interests groups and big business, you bet your ass I would. I would much rather have a free-thinker in office than someone's puppet.

Tom's Gravatar Did you listen to the interview with the founder on Walton & Johnson (http://www.950kprc.com/pages/waltonandjohnson.html...). It seems pretty simple. I haven't yet found the flaw. I've ordered a copy of the book.

mike's Gravatar I'm impressed. This guy actually quit his job and decided to do somethig to improve our country. I appreciate your summary of the site. it was enough to get me over to actually read through some of it. apparently there are other ways to help out (moderating or hosting the sessions) that do not require running for office myself :)

Shane Zehnder's Gravatar I am glad you found it useful. I was afraid I was a little broad in my overview and perhaps I should have done a little more digging before I actually posted it.

I was listening to Walton and Johnson and they are trying to get Tim Cox to come in and describe the whole thing in a little more detail. I too saw there were other ways to help the campaign along other than running for office. If it wasn't for having kids, i.e., no "extra" money, I would probably pony up the $100 and have a go at it myself. However, I am told I am required to feed and clothe them, so maybe next time.

Tim Cox's Gravatar We will be back on the air with Walton & Johnson (KPRC 950 AM in Houston, but also in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Wichita, et.al.) Thursday, December 13th, at 8:30 a.m.

The revolution is gaining momentum each day. Thousands of people are visiting www.GOOOH.com and becoming members. Many are already sending in there $100, though you do not need to make that decision until next Spring.

We understand many are skeptical when they first hear the plan; politics and politicians have worn us down. New ideas and inventions are not always easy to accept. But, we encourage you to engage and become part of the solution.

Tell eveyone you know about GOOOH. Let each person evaluate the merits of the process. GOOOH will work if we can get Americans to participate. The only thing that will cause it to fail is if we do nothing, and if we do nothing, the corruption will continue and our country will continue to decline.
